Cannabis Laws by State
Nevada has adult-use and medical cannabis. Adults 21 and older may buy and possess up to 2.5 ounces of flower and seven grams of concentrate, but public use is illegal. Home cultivation is available only outside the 25-mile radius of an operating adult-use retailer, making it unavailable to most residents of the Las Vegas and Reno areas without a medical exemption.

Adults 21 and older may possess up to 2.5 ounces of cannabis flower and one-quarter ounce, or seven grams, of concentrated cannabis. The same adult-use limits apply to visitors. Medical patients may possess up to 2.5 ounces of usable cannabis or one-quarter ounce of concentrate or product equivalent, and medical purchases are exempt from the ten percent retail excise tax.
Adults may grow up to six plants per person and 12 plants per household only when they live more than 25 miles from an operating licensed adult-use retail store. Plants must be on property in the cultivator’s lawful possession or with the possessor’s consent and must not be visible from a public place by normal unaided vision. Qualified medical patients may grow up to 12 plants when an exemption applies.
For this section, adult means a person 21 or older. A personal home grow is separate from a commercial cultivation license: the allowance only covers personal, noncommercial cultivation by eligible adults who follow the residence, plant-count, security, visibility, landlord, and local-rule limits described above.
Regulator: Nevada Cannabis Compliance Board (CCB)
License classes:
Caps: Nevada is a limited-license state. Adult-use retail store counts are capped by county population, and CCB opens application windows only when announced.
Integration model: Vertical integration is permitted but not required through separate activity licenses. Licensed distributors transport adult-use cannabis to retail stores.
Round status: No general open licensing round was identified. Consumption-lounge applications use announced notice periods, and live lounge status should be verified with CCB.
Local control: Local jurisdictions may impose limits or moratoriums, including for consumption lounges, and local business licensing is required.
Jobs outlook: The limited-license market supports roles across production, cultivation, retail, distribution, laboratory, and lounges. Category-specific agent cards and slow lounge rollout shape hiring.

An excluded felony offense bars an agent-card applicant: an offense equivalent to a Nevada category A felony or two or more felony convictions. The definition excludes conduct now lawful under Nevada cannabis law and convictions where the full sentence ended more than 10 years ago. A single non-category-A felony generally does not disqualify an applicant.
Adults 21 and older may possess up to 2.5 ounces of cannabis flower and one-quarter ounce, or seven grams, of concentrate.
Only if they live more than 25 miles from an operating licensed adult-use retailer. Eligible adults may grow six plants each and up to 12 per household in a non-visible location.
Yes. Workers need a CCB Agent Card for each category in which they work, such as retail, cultivation, production, distribution, laboratory, or contractor.
Usually yes. After CCB receives a complete application and payment, it provides a temporary authorization and Temporary Agent Card through the Accela account.
Nevada’s excluded-felony rule is narrower than a blanket felony ban. It excludes cannabis conduct now lawful and convictions with completed sentences more than 10 years old, but category A-equivalent offenses and two or more felony convictions can disqualify.
