Here’s an example of exactly what an agentic tool would be used for

For a state cannabis-law resource page, an agentic tool gathers and organizes the following before I review it. I confirm each item against primary sources myself, and I only mark a page ready to publish once all of it checks out:

• Current legal status, including any pending legislation that could change it soon.
• Possession limits, taken from the state statute or regulator rather than a secondary aggregator.
• Home cultivation rules, stated plainly as legal or not, with the actual plant limits if it is.
• Licensing structure: the regulator’s name, the license types it issues, and how the licensing process is currently moving.
• Whether a state worker credential exists for cannabis employees, or a plain statement that it doesn’t.
• How the state’s rules affect applicants with a record, based on what the statute and regulations actually say.

The standard I hold every fact to before it goes on the page:

• Primary source first. A state statute or the state’s own cannabis regulator is the source I cite; other sites are only used to help locate or double-check a fact.
• No guessing. If something can’t be genuinely verified, the page says so — “could not verify” — instead of assuming it works like a similar state.
• Conflicts get flagged, not smoothed over. When sources disagree, both are cited and the disagreement is called out rather than silently picking one.
