Rhode Island permits adult-use and medical cannabis, including limited possession and household cultivation for adults.
Adults may possess one ounce in public and up to ten ounces at home, with a separate ten-gram concentrate limit.
Adults may grow up to six plants per household, no more than three mature, subject to security and visibility rules.
For this section, adult means a person 21 or older. A personal home grow is separate from a commercial cultivation license: the allowance only covers personal, noncommercial cultivation by eligible adults who follow the residence, plant-count, security, visibility, landlord, and local-rule limits described above.
Regulator: Rhode Island Cannabis Control Commission
License classes:
Round status: Check the Commission for current retail and social-equity licensing opportunities.
Local control: Municipal consent and local siting rules apply.
Jobs outlook: Operating adult-use and medical businesses support regulated retail and production jobs.
