Temporary Outdoor Cultivation & Harvest Technician

This is a temporary, outdoor position supporting an active cannabis cultivation site. Right now, the role is focused on field preparation — building garden beds, setting up irrigation, and some planting — with additional cultivation and harvest support as the season progresses. This is hands-on, physical outdoor work and is a great fit for someone who's reliable, doesn't mind working in the elements, and is willing to go through the state badging process.
Responsibilities
- Prepare garden beds for planting, including soil work and bed layout
- Set up and maintain irrigation lines and systems
- Plant and transplant cannabis starts/seedlings as directed
- Support general outdoor cultivation tasks as the grow cycle progresses (feeding, weeding, plant maintenance)
- Assist with harvest activities when the season calls for it — cutting, moving, and handling plants
- Follow all state compliance, safety, and site protocols at all times
- Keep tools, equipment, and work areas clean and organized
- Report any issues with plants, irrigation, or equipment to a supervisor
Qualifications
- Must be 21 years of age or older (state requirement for cannabis work)
- Must be able to obtain a Maryland cannabis agent badge and complete the full badging process (fingerprinting, background check, application) — this is required to work on-site
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor for extended periods
- Prior outdoor, agricultural, landscaping, or cultivation experience is a plus, but not required
- Reliable transportation to the worksite
Work Environment
- Fully outdoor role — expect sun, heat, and changing weather
- Physical, hands-on labor throughout the shift
- Requires standing, bending, kneeling, and lifting
- May involve early start times and seasonal schedule changes
- Personal protective equipment provided as needed
Preferred Traits
- Dependable and punctual
- Comfortable with manual, outdoor work
- Willing to follow the MD badging process without issue
- Team player who can also work independently
- Interest in agriculture or cannabis cultivation is a plus
